General safety
The hydraulic companionway door has a safe key-lock system. Gimballed electric ceramic hob for safety cooking, there is no gas on board.
The life raft is built into the cockpit locker on the comings.
The stainless steel anchor chain is 80m long and fitted with 10mm thick chains for safe anchoring
The engine rooms and cabins are fitted with fire extinguishers.
Sail handling can be done from the cockpit by one person.
The screens for the chart plotter, radar and depth sounder are in the saloon.
The clean and uncluttered layout means there's nothing to trip over on deck.
Kevlar/foam/carbon construction
High tech Kevlar/foam/carbon construction of the hull gives an enormous impact resistance.
Watertight
9,5 m³ of special foam built into the boat allow it to float high in the water even if the whole length of the hull is damaged.
There are four watertight bulkheads and an additional Crash box.
Two of the bulkheads have approved watertight interior doors.
The engines and generators will still work even if the boat is flooded.
Stability
The S/Y Prana meets all the requirements of ORC 'class 0' rules.
The yacht has positive stability up to 130° (it will right itself even when the mast is 40° under water)
Because the yacht heels less, passengers feel more secure and so feel safer onboard.
